On August 10, the Greene Memorial Hospital Surgery Center welcomed 20,000th patient, Lauren Wright, daughter of Tina Wright, who works in the GMH Laboratory.

The Surgery Center opened its doors on September 3, 1999, at which time Dr. Linda Bailey performed the first procedure. It was only fitting that Dr. Bailey also performed number 20,000 just 10 short years later.

Currently, the Surgery Center has 18 surgeons who serve the Beavercreek and surrounding areas in the specialties of Endoscopy, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Pain Management, Plastics, Urology and ENT. The Surgery Center prides itself on maintaining the high level of patient satisfaction and the desire to put patients first.

"Without our patients we would have no purpose and we appreciate their decision to let us provide a positive surgical experience," said Timothy Shannon, director of operations, GMH Surgery Center.

The Surgery Center would like to give a special thank you to all of the patients who have helped them make it this far.

"We pray that you never need surgery, but if you do, we promise to give you highest level of care and comfort possible," said Shannon.
