The Ohio Partnership for Excellence (OPE), the state of Ohio Baldrige quality program, announced earlier this year that they were recognizing Kettering Health Network with the 2009 Gold Level (Achievement of Excellence) Award. At the Annual Ohio Partnership for Excellence Conference on September 21 and 22 in Columbus, Network CEO Frank Perez was officially presented with the award. In addition, KHN President Fred Manchur gave a presentation to conference attendees, "The Leader's Role in the Quest for Excellence."

This "Achievement of Excellence" is an advanced level of recognition to KHN for demonstrating, through commitment and practice, significant progress toward our journey. Those recognized at this level clearly demonstrate results directly attributable to deployment of a systematic approach to Improve, Spread, and Sustain high quality, safe, cost effective patient care. The Gold Level is this year's highest level of achievement and is prestigious recognition from an independent body of our peers.
