Greene Memorial Hospital continues to invest in its facilities – the latest area to receive a makeover is the lounge and locker room in Surgical Services.

New features of the updated changing area include wood paneled lockers, built-in benches and a center island. The lounges that adjoin to the changing area received new club chairs, built-in computer desks and flat panel televisions.

GMH Surgery lounge “We wanted to create a relaxing atmosphere for the surgery team to get away when they have their down time,” said Jared Keresoma, manager of Facilities at GMH.

The new look – which also includes fresh paint, updated lighting and new flooring – is similar to other areas in the hospital that have already been redone.

“The staff has been very happy with the new design and layout of the lounge and locker rooms,” said Michelle Reynolds, nurse manager of Surgery Services and the Wound Center. “It is a more pleasing environment to come to work to every day. It gives us pride in our workplace.”

GMH Surgery lounge The Facilities Department is also investing in other areas of the hospital. Efforts are beginning to freshen up paint and flooring in hallways and waiting areas. Considerations are also underway to redesign the main entrance to enhance patient intake flow.

“We understand that keeping GMH looking fresh and modern is both an employee and patient satisfier,” said Jared.
