In fact, we recently received exciting news!
The Ohio Partnership for Excellence (OPE) has awarded Kettering Health Network the highest possible level of recognition for our achievement of excellence – the Platinum Level – Governor’s Award for Excellence. KHN is the first organization to receive this prestigious award since 2006!

Thank you for your spirit, your enthusiasm and your dedication to our mission of improving quality of life for the people we serve. In fact, after getting to know our Network during the visit, the lead OPE examiner stated that “Kettering Health Network has raised the bar in health care.” It was so great to hear these words because we all work so very hard at raising that bar!

Thank you for pursuing and achieving excellence in the work you do every day – you all make a difference, no matter where you work. Whether you are a direct caregiver, a volunteer, ancillary staff, or you work in a support services area, you care about making our patients’ experience the best it can be…every time, every place, everywhere….always, always, always!

Yes, the visit with 11 OPE examiners was very successful and we should all feel great pride about that, and in the work we do every day. But it’s not just about the site visit. As health care providers, we are entrusted with the sacred mission of helping people achieve a better quality of life, and our patients deserve nothing less than excellence. Our success is a reflection of the day-to-day excellence – we call it “Excellence for Life.”

It’s important to note that our participation in OPE or in the National Baldrige Quality Program is about our patients and you. It behooves us to pursue this journey to excellence. You see, their mission is to cultivate excellence and continuous improvement among business, education, government, health care and not-for-profit organizations. At KHN, our efforts in this regard support our mission of improving quality of life for people in our communities. By pursuing “Excellence for Life,” we can reach higher and achieve more, with the goal of being the best we can be.
