Fort Hamilton Hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient adult behavioral health services. Our programs are licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health
and the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP).
Inpatient Adult Mental Health Program
Fort Hamilton Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric crisis stabilization that strives to stabilize the patient in the least restrictive environment with involvement of the patient, the family and the treatment team. The mental health unit specializes in the treatment of emotional and mental disorders.
A multidisciplinary team which consists of the attending psychiatrist, registered nurses, patient care technicians, occupational and activity therapists (who provide therapeutic programming with daily structured activity), dieticians and social workers provides treatment to our mental health patients.

Partial Hospitalization Program
Partial Hospitalization is an intensive, psychotherapeutic based treatment experience for clients who do not need the security of 24-hour care, but who require more than conventional outpatient treatment. The program allows for a flexible combination of individual and group psycho education, psychotherapy and activity programs to meet the needs of individuals in many stages of recovery through cognitive behavioral, talk and interpersonal therapies.
Individual care and groups are offered. Groups focus on education and community reintegration. Sample issues addressed are:
- Self-esteem
- Life issues
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Leisure activities
- Addictions
- Medications/Illness teaching
|
- Wellness education
- Task organization skills
- Discharge issues
- Anger management
- Stress management
- Boundaries/Relationships
|
The Partial Hospitalization Program provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment for individuals challenged by behavioral health issues. Acute, intensive, time-limited care is available for most mental health conditions.
The goal of the program is to provide an alternative for those patients who would otherwise require inpatient hospitalization and those for whom outpatient care is not enough.
A multi-disciplinary team provides individualized treatment plans and interventions. Our team of professionals includes psychiatrists, R.N.s, social workers and chaplains.
The program is daily, Monday – Friday, from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Lunch is included at no additional charge.
